I am glad you found us on the web. My hope is that, as you peruse Grace’s website, you’ll learn a bit of who
we are and what we are about.
Essentially, Grace OP Mission is a developing church from a core of committed families. We are committed, first, to Jesus Christ who has redeemed us from slavery to sin and the wrath of God. We are committed to each other in service and in fellowship. We are committed to be witnesses of Christ’s redemptive work so that others might give thanks to God with us. This boils down to the belief that a church is primarily established to worship and to witness. We believe that the Bible, as God’s word, teaches that worship is a meeting of God with his people. Worship isn’t about us but about God. It isn’t about what we do but about what God has done and is doing for us through Jesus Christ. We witness because our relationship with God, established by God, causes us to see his majesty, grace, holiness, beauty, and mercy in all that he has made. We marvel and revel in his grace and want others to know God as he is revealed in his creation and word. It is the gospel, the good news in Jesus Christ, that gives us hope and confidence. God has made sure promises in the Bible. Those promises give life meaning beyond the temporal self-absorbed time in which we live.
We are Biblically Presbyterian because we believe that the Bible teaches Presbyterian church government - that we are part of a larger, connected church family in Jesus Christ. Though Grace OP mission is a new church, it is a part of historic Church of Jesus Christ that goes back to the apostles and is founded on the promises God made to Abraham. We are a reformed church in that we believe the Bible teaches the doctrines of grace. All people need a real savior. We cannot save ourselves from the effects of sin. We believe that people need to hear these truths boldly and practically taught again.
I hope that these ideas will make you curious. I hope that curiosity will encourage you to visit us. May God lead you by his Spirit and word.
Sincerely,
Pastor Larry Oldaker
